Meet Nicole, Special Education Specialist, Coach, and Tutor
Nicole Hagon, OCT, QTS(PGCE), BA (Hons)
Nicole Hagon is a Special Education Specialist, coach, and tutor with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent learners across a variety of educational settings. She holds teaching licenses in both Ontario and the UK and has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Education, as well as a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from King’s College London. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychology and Psychotherapy, further deepening her expertise in cognitive and learning sciences.
Nicole has earned the designation of Special Education Specialist by completing all three Additional Qualification (AQ) courses in Special Education in Ontario. She has specialized training in autism, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Crisis Prevention, Lego Therapy, Colourful Semantics and structured literacy interventions, including Orton-Gillingham and Reading Mastery.
Her diverse teaching background includes working in public mainstream settings, self-contained special education classrooms for students with profound and multiple learning needs, as well as independent and private education sectors. This range of experience allows her to tailor instruction to meet the unique needs of each learner, whether in one-on-one tutoring, classroom settings, or coaching roles.
Nicole is deeply committed to evidence-based literacy instruction, executive functioning support, and individualized learning strategies. She is passionate about neuroscience and psychology, particularly how they inform best practices in education. She prioritizes psychological safety in learning environments, ensuring that students feel supported, understood, and empowered to take academic risks and build confidence in their abilities.
